About NAGO

Who We Are and Why We Exist

NAGO is the national voice for licensed gaming operators committed to responsible, transparent, and consumer-safe gaming. We exist to shape better policy — not to defend commercial interests at the public's expense.

Mission

Our Mission

NAGO's mission is to advance a well-regulated, consumer-safe gaming environment through transparent advocacy, independent research, and constructive engagement with public authorities and civil society.

We represent licensed operators who believe that responsible regulation is good for consumers, good for public trust, and ultimately good for the sustainability of a legitimate gaming industry.

Our work spans legislative advocacy, consumer education, research publication, and cooperation with law enforcement to eliminate illegal gambling.

Vision

Our Vision

A gaming environment in which every participant is fully informed and protected; where licensed operators compete fairly on quality and responsibility, not on regulatory arbitrage; and where illegal gambling has no viable market to exploit.

We envision a regulatory framework that is proportionate, evidence-based, and continuously improved through open dialogue between industry, government, and civil society.

Long-Term Strategic Goal

By 2030, to have a demonstrably measurable reduction in problem gambling rates, zero tolerance for unlicensed operators, and full public confidence in the regulated gaming sector.

Values

What We Stand For

Public Interest First

Every position we take is evaluated against its impact on consumers, communities, and society — not solely on commercial interests.

Full Transparency

We publish all our governance documents, financial records, and policy positions openly and without restriction.

Evidence-Based Advocacy

Our policy recommendations are grounded in independent research, data, and best-practice analysis from comparable jurisdictions.

Constructive Cooperation

We engage with government, regulators, civil society, and health bodies as partners — not adversaries — in building a safer gaming environment.

Governance

How We Are Structured

NAGO is governed by a Board of Directors comprising senior representatives from member organisations and independent directors. The Board meets quarterly and all decisions are recorded and published.

  • General Assembly — supreme decision-making body
  • Board of Directors — strategic oversight
  • Secretary General — operational management
  • Policy Committee — legislative positions
  • Audit Committee — financial oversight
  • Ethics Committee — conduct and compliance
