Definition
What Is Responsible Gaming?
Responsible gaming refers to a set of policies, tools, and practices designed to prevent and minimise gambling-related harm to individuals, families, and communities.
It encompasses both the obligations of licensed operators — to provide transparent information, protective tools, and access to support — and the awareness of players about their own behaviour and limits.
NAGO members are contractually required to implement responsible gaming standards across all their platforms, as a condition of membership.

Tools Available on Every Licensed Platform
All NAGO member platforms are required to offer the following tools — free of charge and without restriction.
Deposit Limits
Set daily, weekly, or monthly deposit limits on any licensed platform. Once set, limits can only be increased after a mandatory waiting period.
Time Limits & Reality Checks
Receive automated alerts when you have been playing for a set duration. Reality checks remind you how long you've been active and how much you've spent.
Self-Exclusion
Voluntarily exclude yourself from one or all licensed platforms for a set period or indefinitely. Contact the National Self-Exclusion Register for cross-platform exclusion.
Activity Statements
Review a full history of your gaming activity, including wins, losses, time spent, and deposits — available on all NAGO member platforms.
Self-Assessment
Could Gambling Be Becoming a Problem?
Honest reflection is the first step. If you answer yes to two or more of the following questions, we strongly encourage you to seek support.
Do you spend more money on gambling than you intended?
Have you tried to cut down or stop gambling but been unable to?
Do you hide your gambling from family or friends?
Do you gamble to escape problems or relieve anxiety?
After losing money, do you feel the need to return to win it back?
Has gambling caused problems in your relationships or at work?
Have you borrowed money or sold possessions to fund gambling?
If you answered yes to two or more: This does not mean you have a gambling disorder, but it is a signal worth taking seriously. Please contact a support service. Help is free, confidential, and effective.
